Book a Free ConsultationThe hands are often the one part of our body that gives away our age. With sagging skin, wrinkles, and age spots, our hands can look older than we feel. But with hand treatments at Key Laser Institute, you can turn back the clock and achieve beautiful, flawless hands you’ll be proud to show off.
Available Treatments
Causes of Hand Concerns
Sagging skin, wrinkles, age spots, and sun damage on our hands can be caused by a number of different factors, including aging, genetics, sun exposure, repeated use of the hands, and smoking.
How to Treat Hand Concerns
At Key Laser Institute, we offer several different cosmetic procedures to address aesthetic hand concerns. These innovative treatments can be used on much more than just your facial skin; they work wonders on the hands as well.
Ultherapy
With the use of ultrasound energy to stimulate new collagen, Ultherapy can tighten and tone the skin on the hands, giving them a more youthful appearance.
PRP Injections
Platelet-rich plasma injections (PRP injections) are made up of components from your own blood cells and can address a variety of concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, and even pain from arthritis.
The platelets in the PRP injection repair damaged tissue, making your skin firm and smooth. And because the formula is made of your own blood, there is far less a chance of an allergic reaction.
Fillers
Fillers can offer instantaneous results by using hyaluronic acid to add volume to the skin, fill in wrinkles and acne scars, and add structure to address sagging. If you’re looking for immediate improvement in the look of your hands, this is the perfect solution!
Picosure Focus
Struggling with age spots and acne scarring? Picosure Focus can target the pigment in the skin and leave you with clearer, younger-looking hands after only a few treatments.
Fraxel
With Fraxel laser treatment, the light energy penetrates through the skin’s surface to stimulate collagen production and encourage the growth of healthy skin cells, smoothing out wrinkles and diminishing scars. You may need more than one Fraxel treatment session to see optimal results.
Am I a Candidate for Hand Rejuvenation?
Most patients who come to us for hand rejuvenation are good candidates for at least one type of hand rejuvenation treatment. That said, ideal candidates are in generally good health, have realistic expectations, are nonsmokers, and are struggling with the look of their hands.
What to Expect from Hand Rejuvenation
Before Your Hand Rejuvenation Treatment
Before your treatment, we’ll discuss with you how best to prepare. You will want to avoid excess sun exposure, alcohol and blood thinners, smoking, and any skin irritants. You’ll want to come to your appointment with bare skin.
During Your Hand Rejuvenation Treatment
What you can expect during your appointment depends on the type of treatment you’re having done.
With fillers and PRP treatment, we’ll cleanse the area and then inject the appropriate treatment into the skin on the hands. You may feel a slight pinching sensation, but most patients tolerate it very well.
For ultrasound and laser treatments, you may feel a slight warming or tingling sensation in the treated area, but that’s about it. Local anesthetic is available to minimize discomfort. How long your treatment takes and how many ultrasound/laser treatments you need will depend on the results you’re looking for.
After Your Hand Rejuvenation Treatment
After your hand rejuvenation treatment, you will notice some redness, swelling, and tenderness at the treatment or injection site. You’ll want to keep your hands out of direct sunlight, apply sunscreen, avoid smoking and drinking alcohol, and avoid using your hands or performing any strenuous activities for at least a few days.
