The upper part of the arm is prone to sagging skin and accumulation of fat. It can also be one of the hardest areas to tone, even with diet and exercise. If you’re struggling with loose skin and/or excess fat on your upper arms, we have the perfect non-surgical treatment options for you.
Available Treatments

How to Treat Arm Concerns
We offer two treatments that can help sculpt your arms and tighten loose skin.
CoolSculpting is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses intense cold temperatures to freeze and crystallize the unwanted fat cells. The process is known as cryolipolysis or fat freezing. This effectively kills the cells, allowing the body to naturally absorb and get rid of the dead fat cells and leaving you with leaner arms.
ThermiTight uses radiofrequency energy to heat the tissues under the skin, stimulating collagen production to tighten loose skin and giving you the sculpted arms you’ve been dreaming of.
Am I a Candidate for Arm Tightening?
Good candidates for CoolSculpting nonsurgical fat reduction and ThermiTight treatment are generally healthy adults who have realistic expectations, are nonsmokers, and aren’t pregnant or breastfeeding. Both treatments work on all skin tones and skin types.
If you’re struggling with loose skin or excess fat along your upper arms but don’t want to deal with invasive surgery or surgical scarring, you are likely a perfect candidate for our arm rejuvenation treatments.
What to Know About Arm Tightening
At Key Laser Institute, we believe in giving our patients all the information they need so they can make the right decision for them. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some information you’ll want to know before your arm rejuvenation treatment.
Before Your Arm Tightening Treatment
Prior to arm treatments, you’ll need to have a consultation with Dr. Douglas Key, and he will build a personalized treatment plan just for you. We’ll also give you instructions on how to prepare for treatment. You’ll want to avoid alcohol and blood thinners, stay out of the sun as much as possible, wear sunscreen, and stay hydrated. You’ll also want to avoid any skin treatments that could irritate your skin.
During Your Arm Tightening Treatment
During your CoolSculpting treatment, Dr. Key will slowly move the handpiece over your arms. At most, you’ll feel a cold and tugging sensation. Treatment typically takes 30-60 minutes per arm.
With ThermiTight skin tightening, we’ll first administer a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. A small needle will then be placed under the skin of the arms to heat up the targeted tissues. You’ll feel a warm and tingling sensation, but most patients tolerate it very well. Treatment takes about an hour in total.
After Your Arm Tightening Treatment
After CoolSculpting, you’ll likely have some redness, swelling, and bruising in the treatment area, but those side effects will dissipate within a few days. You’ll want to limit any strenuous activity, avoid direct sun exposure, and stay hydrated.
After ThermiTight, you will likely experience bruising, swelling, and discomfort in the treated area, but those will subside as you recover. You will need to wear a surgical compression garment for 24-48 hours and can typically return to work and other activities after a few days.
While a single treatment session can show significant results, you may need multiple treatment sessions to achieve the best outcome.
